Can anyone point me in the right direction for...Update!
information on doing a Sales role?
I am being made redundant at work on the 2nd May, so i have been on the market looking for a job. One has popped up and im thinking heavily going for it.
Can anyone offer me any advice on a role in Sales?
I dont have any experience but the company is willing to train anyone that applys and is sucessful.

well you ahve to write a 'targeted CV' meaning that any experience you have had that resembles sales is relevent. express your skills in good telephone manner / a friendly and professional approach to clients and colleagues / a team player and can work on own intiative / quick learner / good listening skills etc.
talk about any past work that can relate to the position or even college / uni work.

What company is it? What is the comission like? these are things you might want to take into consideration. Can you see there being possibilities within the company for you to progress and "climb the ladder" In sales you generally make the "big" money through comission unless of course you have a high basic or become over time a "sales director" or something of the like. Sales is all about motivation, confidence, organisation, understanding the customers needs and never giving up learning to never take no for an answer you have to give it 100% in sales you get what you put in so the harder you work the more you get out of it i guess like most things in life..
Hope this helps!

What kind of sales role is it mate as they vary imo.
I know that in my sales role one of the main things you need is the ability to listen and adapt to different people. The chances are you will have to speak to loads of different people. Some may react well to stern talking, some may need to be dealt with a touch of subtlety.

Im registered with Temp Team recruitment agency, who have said they will put me forward for this interview should i wish to go for it.
The basic salary is 12k (im on 13k here) with 50% of your target being 2.5% commision, 100% target, 9% commission, 200% of your target 14% commission.
The chances of progressing further is very high.

I ofund if you go down to places and leave a cv with them, it usually helps, i got 2 interviews because of it. Unlucky about the job though, at least you got a good bit of notice for it.

Yeah definately mate you've got the right idea. Because you have to think a bit further down the line you know?
So what makes you want to do sales in particular then? Just for a new challenge and career prospects??

New Challenge, new Career prospects aswell, better life, more money etc the usual lol
I got asked if i wanted to do the Sales role because the lass that works at Temp Team, i used to work with at a call centre taking inbound calls. She remembered how enthusiastic (sp?), motivated etc i was...so thought she would see what i would say about it. The company want people like what the girl from Temp Team said about me...so it would be perfect for me...
I want to feel challenged everytime i go to work....i dont want to be waking up everytime i have to go work and think, 'this shit again', the usual thoughts that creep into people minds when they aint happy at work etc
I feel its time to find me a job that fits what i need....and to look to the future and see where I'll be etc etc

from experience the sales jobs i know aint even worth talking about
are you talking about the place oposite morton park round about?
90% of "SALES" "commision" jobs are just a scam for the main guy to earn lots of money whilst you battle to live, ie make no money one month your knackered, they big up your job saying THIS is how you COULD earn 25k a year... which will never happen.
