VTS Exhaust ~ performance wise, Piper vs Supersprint.
Out of pure curiosity.
Would those 2" backboxes (Supersprint) be better for performance over say a Piper 3" or 3 1/2" back box?
Does a backbox make any difference at all other than noise?
...Even then,
isnt the 2 1/2 inch bore of a Supersprint "race tube" too bigger bore for a standard VTS anyways?
Thanks in advance boys,
Karl.

there is no best for all exhaust, you need different characterisitcs for a different engine.
A backbox makes a whole lot of difference to the system if its wrong, although the front part of the system is more important obviously for pulse tuning.
you sure the supersprint is 2.5 bore? as thats btb.

I swear the supersprint is a bigger bore than a standard centre which iirc is 2 1/4"?
Im talking just a standard VTS engine with just a raceland manifold.
would you notice a difference at all picking the supersprint 2" backbox over a piper with a bigger bore?

which is 2 inches?
fair enough, perhaps i was wrong in first post.
needless to ask,
will the piper or 2" 'peashooter' be best for a standard engine?

To be fairly honest, i don't think you'll notice the difference.
You'll be choosing them because of the noise, rather than the extra 1 or 2 bhp one or the other may give.
