Default Possible new ignition leads?

So i took my ignition leads out to check the spark plugs and on 2 of them there was a bit of metal.. long thin and hollow on top of the spark plug.. i can only assume this is from inside the actual lead.. it was rather rusted.

Before i settle on buying new leads... is this definatley from inside the lead.. any body shed any light?

Thanks.

Sounds like it's the contact ring from the top of the spark plug recess in the lead.

Look inside the leads using a torch to see if the other two have the rings still in position.

If in doubt, replace the leads as a set.
