Focus problems
My dad has got a problem with his 52 reg ford focus when hes drivin to and from work on the motorway every now and again the revs and speedo drop and the music goes quiet and the car will start chugging then 30 seconds later it will be fine again. anyone know what this might be? i was thinkin alternator but what do i know! Cheers Craig

could be the alternator brushes but only if when it goes quiet etc the battery light comes on / the headlights go very dim etc..
best bet is to get the ecu checked for fault codes tbh

sounds silly, make sure the battery cables are on properly
or try the alternator, very common fault in the focus range

Nothing to do with electrical problems that relate to the instrument panels? When I had my Focus, it did something similar but alternator was fine. I was pretty sure it was an electrical fault as it was on Watchdog the other day too....
