Time to get a new tv it appears :(
MY old trusty samsung appears to be on its last legs. Tube i think as screen now has yellow tinge to it.
Lasted well for 5-6 years of abuse though....
Not 100% what to go for. Im a huge samsung fan when it comes to TVs as they are stylish and well priced for the quality IMO.
Thinking 37 or 40.
tempted by
http://www.play.com/Electronics/Elec...V/Product.html
although we currently have this downstairs and i do love it.
http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/pro...LE37R87BDX/XEU
obviously tempted to go for the first one espec for hi def gaming using shexbox 360!
it will be my tv in my uni house next year so gonna take alot of abuse lol!
Any other electric gurus have any input??
no i dont want el pikeyobrando like tektronika or crap from tescos.

cheers Hitachi ive had before back in the old school days as they used to produce very good quality images. Although the one i use at uni has a technical fault and annoys me a tad lol.
Its a nice design there though.

Surely you would get a better response and less misinformed opinions in the correct section?
I would get the 40 inch samsung or if you can budget for it a 42 inch Panasonc Viera plasma
http://www.dixons.co.uk/product.php?..._id=ppc_tvcamp
doesn't have freeview but won't matter if you have sky
Or the ultimate 42 incher:

To be fair if you're wanting the best LCDs at the moment I would only consider Samsung. Anything bigger than 37 inch try and find a discontinued Panasonic plasma. I've seen them go for less than £1k for a top spec 42"

I've got the bottom one you've suggested in my room. It's mint, HD gaming is amazing on the 360 and it looks pimp on the wall

Ryan I'd just advise you not to shop with comet if you intend to buy a warranty-as they've messed me about for a month and a half now on returning the item back to me.
I heard that 37 inches was the optimum size for an LCD screen too.

I dont buy extended warrantys theryre ripp offs with all companies.
I just buy a new tv as the warranty is half of the cost of a tv anyway usually.
