Default Need help choosing a sub + amp

Settign up a boot install for my saxo and i defo want a Type R alpine sub but not sure which would be better a dual 4 ohms or a dual 2 ohms one

LINKS:

2 ohms sub: http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/pro...s_id/3890.html
4 ohms sub: http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/pro...s_id/3891.html

I also need a amp for it but not sure what would power it so i get the most out of it.
Not rly bothered how much it costs.

Thing is though, its easier and cheaper to buy an amp that will do say 600 rms @ 2ohms, than 600 ms @ 4. Unless you bought a 2 channel and bridged it, cus more often than not they are bridged to 4 ohms.

But if you want a mono amp i would go for a dual 4 ohm sub so you can wire it up to show a load of 2 ohms to your amp.

Something like this would get the sub moving, but it would need the dual 4 ohm sub for the amp to work at its full potential.

To be honest I think you've gone the wrong way round, amp power has got quite cheap as of late. So with a budget of £300-400 for an amp, why not think about scrapping the Type R and making the overall budget £400-500 (assuming you were going to pay £90-100 for the Type R), then get the Alpine Type X for £260 and the JBL GTO-1201.1 to power it for £140.

That way you're getting a far superior sub, and you've now got the ability to produce 1.5kw RMS as apposed to .5kw RMS, far bigger volume capabilities along with better SQ.

You could then use £50-60 to pay Jam2008 to build a nice big ported box to house the type X and you will have got yourself a very nice set-up there.
