Default Problems with CL

Hi all,

I fitted an amp into my saxo which seems to be working fine, however when i lock my car with the alarm fob, the doors will lock then bounce back open, after making sure the wires were joined ok (as i first cut the wrong ones for speakers) it seemed to be fine, now all of a sudden it's back to not working.

Anyone shed any light

I take it youve had the door card off?

You will have trapped something inside it probably.

Take it back off, then retry the CL and see if it works. Then when putting it on, do it carefully and dont trap, or obstruct the mechanism in any way.

Thanks so much for the reply, i have taken the door card off a few times, and with the door card off it still locks but bounces back open

Is there some sort of coninuity tester i can put on one end of the cl motor and one of the wires i've snipped?

No me either ? it works when it feels like it but before i fitted the amp it was fine, admittingly when i took the door card off to see what colour the speaker wires were they were green / pink, but i had 3 green & 3 pink, so i carefully stripped the insulation connected the speaker to the exposed wire and seemed to work so snipped it, but a green & pink is for cl as well

Thats why i was hoping for some sort of continuity tester (if one exists for non live wire) so i can see if the wire that i snipped is for the cl.

Your gonna need a multimeter circuit tester by the sounds of it, you may have used an earth that you shouldn't have therefore tripping one of the circuits that is used to keep the door's locked and operate other controls! do the usual check fuses and test for live and earths.
