Default 1.5 D Turbo

Hi peeps,

I have recently come in possession of a VTR in reasonable condition, catch is no engine... so I was thinking of throwing in a 1.5 diesel engine.

Problem is... there so darn slow! So I wanted to turbo charge it my question is, does anyone here know where I can get my hands on a turbo inlet and outlet manifolds for the saxo 1.5d engine.

Also does it have the same mounts as a petrol engine? Or would it mean getting custom mounts?

Cheers all.

If you wanted to stick a turbo diesel in you'd be better off fitting the 1.6 HDI from the C2 VTS Diesel!!

Bags of torque, but wiring would be a mare!

I suspect the standard inlet would take a fair amount of boost and the exhaust you would just adapt your own or weld up a new one from scratch. The exhaust is on the back of these old oil burners so there is not much room. The engine block is the same as all the other iron TU engines just with a different bore. So yes they bolt in the same. Should not be too hard to do. A mini super charger may work well on this if you can make up some simple brackets for it. Just turn up the fuel and your done. Never going to be fast though. As said the HDI is a much nicer engine but would be more complicated to fit.
