loudest induction kit
hey guys
after reading up the general jist is that the raceland induction kit teamed with a green filter is the best induction kit for sound, is this true?
when you buy the raceland induction kit does it automatically come with the green filter or do you have to buy seperate?
and finally where do you buy them from, cant see any on ebay

The loudest by far is the foam pipercross filter, but its shit for performance.
The raceland can be bought from kam racing. Not sure of the link, but google it. Its aobut £70 iirc

If anything a pipercross foam will surely hinder the performance because of the hight amount of heatsoak, just get a raceland, they sound quality.

well like i said not bothered bout performance, just sound, i can always get some hosing and move the cone closer to the grille see, and will be teaming this combo with a nearly silent exhaust

for just sound go for an open filter, enclosed wont make much sound at all, and as said the pipercross open ones seem to be the loudest

Regarding powertec... I'm not saying they're all like this, but my mate had a 1.2 Clio last year with an open PiperX filter on it, and that was loud.
He changed it about 6 months ago to a Clio RSi and has a Powertec open cone filter on it... and it honestly makes hardly any noise whatsoever! His little 1.2 clio with a Piper on it made more than the RSi makes with a Powertec!
I think if you purely want noise, go for a PiperX in my experience. If not, just any good brand (K&N, Green) open cone filter.
Bit off topic, but i have a Redline mag from a couple months ago with a big tuning guide for 106 GTi's and VTS's and it said regarding filters that heat soak isn't really an issue with these engines as they aren't massive and never really produce enough heat to suffer from any sort of drastic heat soak...
