Default Fanymolds...

Well, il be getting a new car soon so i will be after doing all my own work and whatnot, sick of cars been fooked, so im gona wait for a good en, go over it with a fine tooth comb before i buy, and buy standard. learned my lesson.

But main thing, is the manifold.

I had a quick search, never really answered my question, and it gives the boffins time to rack there brains

Is a 4-1 manifold, any better than a 4-2-1, because when i think of it in my mine, i think the 4-2-1 will work better because its not all forcing into one place at once, its more broken up so not causing too much resistance, but enough pressure to go well..

I want to get optimum amounts out of the car, and il be heatwrapping it, and spraying the wrap.

So, someone explain the 4-1 and 4-2-1 diffrences? the pros and conns of each?

4-1 better for top end, 4-2-1 better for mid range. Exhaust dynamics are quite complex which is why some exhaust manufacturers are better than others at tuning exhausts to suit individual cars. One thing that happens is that the exiting gases from one cylinder (remember, this happens very fast)can draw the gases out of another and hence improve performance.

^ Beat me to it! Go for a SuperSprint, piss easy to fit.

PS - why do people refer to manifolds as 'fanymolds' on this forum? Something i've never got....

been covered loads of times, tbh i dont think you will ever notice the difference really between the two driving them.

For a VTR i would stick a piper 4-1 on from GMC I had one and was really good build quality. Made the car rev alot more freely. But would never say it made it faster.
