Ok now i know what im talking about...ive kept fish for 9years or so (stingrays and specilist fish not just gold fish), get some hose, or a syphon, and a clean bucket, syphon 45-50% out, get a brand new sponge (only use it for the fish tank any soap will kill him) scrub the tank glass, then syphon the water out make it clean, fill it will declorinated water (get it from a pet sop) and ur set PM me more details

no don't pay for water, get some water conditioner from the pet shop. Then add that to the water, should last ages and won't break the bank

looking at the state of the tank your filter is probably blocked up too Clean it in the old tank water (saving the good bacteria). If you rinse it under the tap you'll probably kill the fish!!!
so........
1. Empty out about 50% of the tank water
2. Using a clean*new* sponge clean the inside to get rid of the algae
3. Wash filter sponge in old tank water
4. Replace filter sponge!
5.Add the correct amount of water conditioner to some tap water
6. Add new water to tank to tank

gold fish are quite hard fish so id just get a bucket of water stick the little fella in the bucket give your bowl or tank a full clean with a pad or scrubber must be a new one (dont use any cleaning products as these can harm or kill the fish ) refill with tap water with some stress coat (and chemicals if you are fussy ) fish back in .. done
p.s get a water filter as this can make you tank cleaner

I won my old fish at a school fair. Was a little goldfish called Billy. Lasted for 13 years.
My dad used to catch it in a glass, then pop it in the sink with some water in. Whilst doing that he changed the water in the tank with fresh stuff from the tap. Let it settle for a while to room temp. and dropped the little guy back in. All was good for that fish.

If you take out all the water and replace the whole lot, you end up getting rid of all the 'good bacteria'. If they're all gone then the fish ends up swimming around in a pool of ammonia which damages gills/fins etc.....
hope this helps

Mine isn't, it's escaped from it's cage the last 3 nights in a row, eaten away at the carpet in the hallway, and peed and poo'd everywhere!!. I've just had to tape the plastic doors up so that he can't move them from the inside
At least fish don't escape (if you have a lid for the tank!! lol)

clever hamster!
mine is annoying at the moment, he keeps removing the lid from the little house he sleeps in and he chucks it from the top of the cage, down 3 levels to the floor, then moving it back to the top and chucking it back down!
i had a hamster escape one, he lived behind the washing machine for at least a month!
We finally trapped him with some food, inside a bin, with a staircase made of books, so once he was in, he was stuck =] haha
