drying your car
what do you use to dry your car? i recently bought one of those miracle towels off CYC. it's pretty good but my car always seems to have water marks left on it afterwards. doesn't really help that i have no where shadey to wash my car so the sun dries half of the car up before i can. any tips on how to get rid of the water marks?

I use a rubber blade to remove most of the water, then go over the rest with a towel.
The key is not to let the sun dry the car so even if your going round drying the car make sure its still wet before you start (spray more water on it if need be)

dont use the rubber flex things they scratch the car.
just make sure you keep it wet.
use the rubber flex to dry off the windows only and then use the miricle towel to dry whole car, can easily be done without leaving water marks in the sun, just have to work fast.

I've got sonus der wunder towels were amazing.. On certain cars. Don't ask me why lol.
My cousins WR1 got regular treatment by myself polished waxed etc and it dried off with the towels absolutely perfectly.. on the other hand when i tried to dry my mates ZR it just smeared like hell. Maybe its because i didn't use APC and it still has previous shitty wax on? Hmm..

depends on the paint work, if you know theres no grit etc and its decent paint, you can wipe, but its advisable to pat because if there is any contaminents left on the paintwork it wont get wipe across the paintwork.

2 choices according to the Detailers.
The way now apparently is micro-fibre cloths, I have tried them and I gotta say that in my opinion nothing comes close to a good quality clean chamois leather, providing the car has been thoroughly cleand and is grit free.

I use a large Poorboys waffle weave towel (24"x36") and totally recommend it, even bought another one as a spare I was that impressed. As for method ...I lay it on the roof to start, pat down and pull it towards me, same with windscreen, bonnet, boot, sides and a general wipe if I see any I've missed. Dries the whole car in one hit and could still soak up more, I tried wringing it out and no water came out of it

LOL...ok then mate.
MF cloths are pants tbh, need to use a propper drying towel. MF's do not suck up the water.

Hydra flexi blade for me. Made from medical grade silicone (fake boobies material). I have a megs towel and a sonus waffle weave and never get a good result from them. Use them just to mop up the drips.

Think u will find all the fancy cloths now being put on the market are Micro-fibre based, just with fancy names to excite your interest.

True, but i think you will find theres a big difference from this to this. And they are in a different league to the leather chamois.

Couldnt disagree with u on that, I know the pro detailers love the things, my experiences with them have been limited I admit, but chamois always does the biz. Its harder work of course, but I am never disappointed by a chamois.
Personal choice thing innit..

Never use those blades, there rubbish and cause more damage to the paint.
I use a Poorboys waffle weave, excellent peice of kit.

A massive no to the blades, press and pat using a waffle weave towel is the way to go if you want to avoid inflicting swirls
