My monster has been diagnosed with headgasket on it's way out.Been qouted at a 500 pound job.

Seeing as the car is only worth about a grand tops im thinking maybe sell it and get something new, maybe a vtr/s.

Current car 1999 1.1i sx mileage 60k, get a grand for it?

Only problem is i still owe about 2.5k for the 4k loan i took out on it about 2 years ago.

Yes i know i paid well over for it! 2k for car 2 k for 1st years insurance!!!

What similar decent mileage car should i be looking for if spending about 2.5k. Will have to enlarge the loan me thinks. I would prefer it to be an upgrade to the beast as i might have to have it for the next 3 years ish?

I would upgrade to probably a 1.4 Sax tbh like a westcoast or a furio

I dont see a 1.4 as a big enough upgrade tbh.

Could probably get a low mileage 2003 vtr/s for about 2.5k, hmmmmm.

Selling the car to a dealer they would obviously notice the oil leak on the engine, (although it doesnt have the mayonaisey stuff in the oil cap people talk associate with hg failure).

Would they knock a great amount off the amount they will pay for it because of this?

Head gasket should be about £200 not a massively hard job to do yourself then its just about £40 for the gasket set

i am a complete retard when it comes to cars, i dont even know how to change oil let alone a head gasket.

might have to get a few more qoutes then seeing as though they are trying to rape me for it.
