Default Mk4 golf gti 1.8t

viewed one today, drove it about too

comforts in it are brilliant, had heated seats , air con and the ride was top notch.

power delivery was good, seemed slower than it was i think.

was 4000 quid with 75 k miles, what you lot think of them..

anyone know about the remapping of it?

I wouldnt have thought so , he wanted 4200 for his and it was V reg but he part-xed for clio sport. Fair price i would have thought , unless you buy a clio sport he says its a lot quicker than the golf lol

What year was it?

Try to get one of the early/older ones because:

1- They have the AUG engine (Stronger internals and less common faults)

2- They are cheaper.

Disadvantage of the AUG is that they use the K03 turbo so will only go up to 190(ish)BHP.

The newer models have the AUM engine which has the K03S turbo and should see over 200BHP with a remap.

Yup they're based in Essex and Surrey and I've heard good things about AMD- they specialize in German marques. Certainly worth a look if you're going into VAG tuning. No probs
