Angry Rear window.

Anyone had this happen...

Closing your boot as you normally would and your rear window just shatters?
Mine shattered this morning, a little bit peeed off!
And its not covered by my insurance so they say!

Decided to smash the day i take my car in for a new wing!

Mine smashed when I switched off the ignition, walked round to other side to get my little one out the car and bang it went - missed us both by inches, that is when I realised she will never go in one again.

Mine was heating elements, but is a common problem on these.

Hmmm sounds like the heating elements are to blame then, the bottom couple of lines havent been working over the last week....sucks though! Going to see if local scrappy has any! if not, then autoglass!

Rear Windscreens aren't that expensive really if you shop around.

Phone all the local cheaper places if you have to, all guaranteed.

Happened to me a few weeks ago. Parked up outside work then someone came running in the tell me my window had shattered. That was down to heating elements also. Autoglass said it could take them up to 2 days to come and do it! So I took it to National Windscreens who did it for £190 and then claimed it back for me on insurance.

Apparently it happens loads on mk2s cos of the holes for the spoiler. Got me a spare mk1 tailgate, as eventually will have Kitcar type roof spoiler anyways
