Default How much better will it sound with an amp?

My headunit says 4x50w on it and I take it that this is the max power rating... anyone know what the RMS would be?
I've got Alpine coaxials that are rated 35w RMS, and I was thinking of gettin this amp:

Would it make much of a difference?

The speakers get muffled when i turn it up too much atm, i take it that this the headunit clipping the sound?

Cheers.

Get some comps they will sound much better than coax. Even without an amp.
