Default VTS engine problem

Hey guys,

Had a little problem with my mk2 VTS and to cut a long story short the engine is knacked. I have found a new engine with 52K with history etc out of another mk2.
I'm going to go pick it up tomorrow, and will at the weekend take out the old and fit the new. What I need to know is do I need to do anything to my ecu? Will it accept the new engine no probs? or does it need unlocking? Or is it simply a case of just swapping the engines over. As I'm going to collect it tomorrow is it worth me getting the ecu with the new engine?
I need to know before I leave tomorrow!

Thanks for the help.

You can swap the engines over if they are exactly the same as you say. Nothing would need to change on your ECU
