what's the role of midbox?
will i have problems with passing the mot (because of the gasses)?
engine is 2.0 HDi,Xsara

i was thinking of replacing the whole pipe, and make the cat on screws so i can replace it before mot

mid box is noise dampening if its after the cat, it will only make the car louder shoudlnt affect emissions if the cat is still in place

oh... thanx

what do you say about putting an enclosed air filter on this engine? people told me that it's practically no use, because the turbo "takes" how much air it needs, no matter the filter

not to sure on the filter mate, but people do put aftermarket filters on petrol turbos and im sure ive seen them on tdi dubs befor....

the only thing i got told by the MOT man was if you dont have a mid box they (may)fail it on noise if it stupidly loud, but mine passed fine.

well a turbo will only flow as much air as it is allowed better filter will maximise what it can draw.

Is the car intercooled? if so dont bother just use an open filter and try to keep it away from teh turbo to minimise pre compressed temperatures

well the intercooler you will be able to see through the bumper or infront for the normal cooling rad i think on that engine... i would have thought with it been a hdi it would be infront of the cooling rad normally the same size but thiner.
