well the only offence youll be commiting s failng to display a tax disc ...
though its negotioable whether you are taxed or not.... unless you get a hawkeye copper who spots you... you should be ok given the circumstances.... and any ANPR cameras will read your plate and pick up that you are taxed on the system
so technically you will be commiting an offence.... but you should be OK .... (not gonna take any liability though haha)

i think im right in thinking that you SHOULD be okay as long as the car is taxed.... give it 24 hours or so from the date you bought your tax over phone. As long as you have proof that its bought i.e. a receipt of bank statement... I think technically your car is taxed, thus its legal to drive?
Dont think many police offers would be too fussed if you explained.

NOOOOOOOOOO! DONT do that .... making it look like you have tax and using somebody elses dics is amuch more serious offence! just chance it without once you are sure your tax disc is on the way.... chances are youll be fine.... and any understanding copper should give you a producer at maximum.. just to check, they should be able tocheck there and then over the phone direct with the DVLA if you are....
DONT DISPLAY A FALSE TAX DISC THOUGH!!!

Pay for it online, cause if they ain't taken payment yet and they normally do straight away then you have no tax on the car at all.

Did you do it over the phone? They normally say whether payment has been accepted instantly and give you a reference number...?
