Any one a Teacher? -ALAN Test Level 2-
Right guys, Im wanting to join the army as a officer but i need a good set of UCAS / ALIS Points.
Basically this is the armys talley sheet for the grades.
In addition all candidates will require a minimum of 35 ALIS points at GCSE or 34 ALIS points at Scottish Standard Grades (or equivalent) where:
GCSE Grades: A* = 8 points, A = 7, B = 6, C = 5, d = 4 e = 3 F = 2
SCE Standard Grades: 1 = 7 points, 2 = 6, 3 = 5 etc
Candidates will still require at least GCSE grade C (or equivalent) in English language, mathematics and either a science or foreign language
My GCSE Grades are as follows,
English- D - Resitting in college when i go to study my A levels.
Maths - C
Science - C
R.E - B
Graphics - C
Geography - F
ICT My ICT is a PASS, But thats the same as a C? Isnt it? - C
I have also got some other thing called a ALAN test, I passed it, its a LEVEL 2 Adult Literacy and Numeracy Test, Any one know if this means its a C grade GCSE?
If so, i will replace the Geography GCSE with this ALAN test GCSE to Get me the right amount of points i need!
Also,
What A / AS levels to study?
I was thinking ICT as i enjoy computers and so on, but 2nd subject ? I really don't know!

A Pass is E, not a C. And there is no such thing as an F in GCSE grade system. A U is a fail.

I will even take a photo , of my GCSE Certificate
Says my name, date i got the result, F grade
Im sure as Pass = a C, as i used it to get into college, and they said i needed a C, in ICT already, so it cant be a E.

GCSE has F's in the grading, A-levels dont..
I dont think the ALAN test will count as it's not a subject..

you'll have to contact the army office to see if they accept NVQ's..

Any grade in GCSE is a 'pass' as you've passed the exam but usually colleges want grades of C or higher. From my college experience i would say don't take maths physics or chemistry unless you really need them as they are very hard
