he was always funny as bruno on the ali g show back in the day sure this film wont be a let down even if it is the same concept as borat, that was a huge success so why not do the same thing with a different character is clearly works, the thing i find funny is that kazakhstan issued complaints etc about borat insulting their nation, austria has done the same with bruno, but we wern't bothered about how ali g was portraying our nation, clearly being occupied by nazi's or soviets has a serious impact on countries senses of humour?

Doesnt look as funny as borat simply because you expect it more...

Where as borat generally looked natural in his role of Borat.

To be fair, ours was a simple minded gangsta white boi. He made Kazakhstan out to look like a nation that lives in simple villages, and its citizens to commit incest, makes Jews race each other and get beaten etc etc lol

tbf the film was mostly mindless comedy yes but his comedy is extremely covertly political this is why he is so successful as he appeals to all classes and intelligence levels as those who aren't politically aware find his stuff generally funny on a 'shock and awe' level whereas those of political awareness get all this and the added hilarity of how much he takes the piss out of the nations of his characters
