Sandpaper...
Painting my roker cover over the weekend.
What grade sandpaper should I use to get the old paint off and get it smooth before applying the hammerite?

P.s ive searched and found the guide but it just says use 400 inbetween coats.

just strip it down to the bear metal mate, and then just aply whatever coulour you want then thats all i done

if you want to strip down to bare metal use nitro mors.
Better off sanding with 240 grit and use 1200 in between layers.

If you are using paint stripper before you apply it scratch the surface (with a screw driver or something) then after the stuff is on the rockers cover them with plastic bags.
That way the paint will peel off easily.
