UFC 103 / The Ultimate Fighter 10 introducing Kimbo.
Ok so MMA super saturday is tomorrow !
To kick start at 11pm on FIVE USA we have the new season of the ultimate fighter the heavyweights. Coached by rivals Rampage Jackson and Rashad Evans.
4 Former NFL players, 3 UFC vets, the last IFL heavyweight Champ and the one and only Kimbo Slice !
This has already been shown in the US on wednesday so anyone know the results please keep them to yourself !
I really really hope Kimbo does well, I think he has all the natural talents to be great but is it too much too soon for him ?
Then about 3am on ESPN we have UFC 103, now this I am really looking forward to, as one of my favourite fighters is returning after 4 years out of the UFC - Vitor Belfort.
This guy is amazing, prob one of the best strikers ever in MMA and the best hand speed in UFC, could turn pro boxer if he wanted to. At 19 he won the 1st Heavyweight tournament in UFC and went on a run until loseing to Randy Couture. He then had personal issues as his sister disapered and never was found, causing Belfot to lose a number of fights.
But now he has a family and is re-focused, training with Randy Couture he has won his last 4 fights, his last in a few seconds by KO he is looking back to his best. But has a tough fight in Franklin, a cardio machine. Im going for a victory for belfort via KO .
Then we have another returning Fighter in Frank Trigg, this guy should of won the welterweight title years ago against matt hughes but lost such a close fight. Hes done nothing since but has been training back to his best and faces Koshack whos a similair fighter, if he loses i think he will retire, if not then we are bound to see more of Trigg.

The UFC seem to be seriously pushing the sport now which is really good! Bringing back Belfort was a brilliant move as the middleweight div really needs some new contenders imo. i belive this fight will be at 195 catchweight but i see him floating around 185-205 div like Franklin.
Did anyone see the UFN the other night? some brilliant fights, havnt watched them all yet. Nate Quarry vs Tim Creadur was immense!!!
heres a link

Not long now, the weigh ins are up on the ufc website. Belfort and Franklin are fighting at 190lbs not 205 ? But its still the Lightheavyweight division

I'm sorry if this is harsh, but Kimbo is a backyard fighter, as shown all over the internet, because he can throw a punch they think he can win UFC fights and what not?
His fighting style is ridiculous, I've been training in MMA since i was 11 (now 18) and his moves look so predictable, but good luck to him, he will do well just because of his pure power !.

TUF is on FIVE USA 11pm, UFC 103 is on ESPN 3am.
I think Kimbo may do well, yeah hes a street fighter but he hasnt done that bad in the cage with only 2years experience, maybe it will be too much or maybe he will pick it up easily.
Some people just have a talent, we will see if he really has a talent to fight or if hes just some tough guy who can throw a punch. I mean look at GSP before his MMA career he had never done wrestling, now hes one of the best wrestlers in his division !

Very fair point about GSP, but Kimbo looks soooooo tense and stiff while in the cage, he hasnt got a good lenth on his punch either, i just think he will get owned, hes hyped up to be a backyard brawler because he smacked a few people about?, the end of the day we will see what happens.

His record is 3-1 I think, yeah the fight he lost is debatable, people say he slipped, i think he was just too excited and left his gaurd down. Also the guy he lost to he didnt really know anything about as he was a last minute replacment for ken shamrock

Swift kick to the balls would have kimbo on his knees in seconds.....
No matter how big/hard someone is they always have soft bollocks.
Wont be watching this unfortunately.

Yeah its just the whole image of Kimbo, the way he looks, his beard lol, his size. He is a hard bastard I mean the guys he fights on youtube are prob all pretty tough, on some fights he just stands there and lets them hit him lol.
But when you hear him speak hes really down to earth and sounds pretty cool, everyone knows DW only got him in for the raitings, but will he do well ? yup we shall see
