Handbrake will not go down
my handbrake will not go down i think i have pulled it to tight does anyone know how to fix this i have tryed geting under my car and loosing the cable but i carnt do it because the zorst go through the middle can some one show me a pic of the cable i need to loosen cheers

Hi mate, the cable will not stop it from going back down. From inside the car check the mechanism of the handbrake ratchet. You will have to get in some sort of awkward position I bet but if you pull the carpet to one side and put seats right back you should be able to see whats wrong. My guess is the pawl part of the ratchet has pun round or got jammed somehow. If you need to loosen the cable there is one cable from the handbrake under car behind heat sheilds and that splits into 2 cables for the back brakes. Undo the adjusters (equally) on the 2 that go to the back to give you some slack. Also the complete handbrake mechanism can be unbolted form car if rreplacement becomes necessary.

so what sould i do 1st lift al the carpet up , if not that go under the car and wt cabledo i loosen under the car

yeah i rammed a screwdriver down the side and gave it a bit of a wiggle lol nots its ok , and everyone look at ma progrss thread link is in my signture cheers
