supersprint manifold

has anyone got any views on this supersprint manifold, just wondered it is was worth getting over the raceland or piper manifolds which i have also been looking at. and will it definately fit a 2001 saxo. any comments apprecitated thanks

If ground clearance isn't an issue (i.e car is down <50mm) then I'd buy the Piper 4-1 every time - quality is second to none and the branches are a much larger diameter than any other manifold I've seen for the 8V engine.

I'm not biased in any way - I had a Supersprint on my VTR and found the fit wasn't that great. It was ok for about a year, then it eventually crept towards the MK2 oil filter and started vibrating against it/ damaged the metal part of it. This was solved by fitting extra manifold -> head gaskets but was a pain all the same. I also didn't like the way the manifold was in two sections, i.e the 2-1 bit slides on underneath the car - was nigh on impossible to get a gas tight seal.

Might aswell get raceland and save some money. You won't get better gains out of any of them. They are all pretty evenly matched

Raceland is worth a punt if you have the time to fart on converting to the MK1 oil filter - although it's probably not a bad idea, I'm damn sure the metal oil filter will do a better job than the MK2 paper ones.

Go for the Piper if you want a good, direct fit mani.

thanks for the advise guys. well thers hardly any dif in price between the piper and supersprint, and from what i gather the piper sounds alot better.my cars lowered 40mm so hopefully it will be ok. i dont really want to move my oil filter because the standard manifold will be going back on at MOT time so i dont want to move it back, might just go for the piper for the quality
