6 pot set up
Anyone know if it's possible to install a 6 pot braking system to a VTR? If so, what would be a good product to go for?

willsy runs a tar.ox 6pot set up iirc
i dont see the point though personally, 4pots more than enough on a track car
and 1pots enough on the road / light track

you can fit effectively any size/number of pots available.
Your wheel size/clearance will limit the size/disc size.
Just fit some 4pots, easy to get hold of and run decent wheels with.

Yeah i want the biggest brakes possible, looking to spend up to £1000, braking sensation is far better than acceleration sensation in my opinion
Seen some conversion kits in that price range but i'll probably just buy callipers first and decide what disk size to have later as I havn't decided what wheels i want yet.

why?
people have no problems running 4pots on 200bhp saxo's
brakings important, but thats overkill imo

No point buying calipers before disks imo, in case the disk size you want is not compatible with them.
If you want big disks, Hi Spec can do up to at least 305mm that work with 4 pots iirc which should be about your budget

are you also planning on running full slicks and hard suspension.
Big brakes on the front cause the nose to dive, wheels to skid because you dont have the grip you need.
Honestly I wonder about sax-p at times. OMG i want 10pots on my 1.1.

lol Ryan..I was thinking the same..
Its one thing having the biggest brakes you can afford, thats fair enough i suppose but as said will be pointless/dangerous if not using decent tyres and suspension..

Also, on the rally car i co-drive in which is a 205 GTi running 306 GTi-6 brakes and discs with a Wilwood bias valve, that thing locks up very easily under heavy braking on hot Kumho slicks..
Cant even begin to imagine what some 6 pots or something would be like on road tyres..

4pots on stock suspension/road tyres are a doddle to lock, I can vouch for this.

lol it was.
it wasnt the safest at times though imo for that reason, and that was running soft pads.

Tarox that name brings back memories. I recall seeing quite a few sets jam on at a few track days over the years. Never found out why? did they make some duff ones or something? worrying stuff. Now I am thinking about it I recall AXnuttys Tarox brake pads had the friction pad fall of the backing plate as well. I don't think there brakes are even weather sealed are they? Or at least the old.

Absolutely no problems with mine what so ever.
They were setup properly though and not just slapped on and forgotten about
