If companies are cutting back they'll take any reason. Mistake or lie they don't care. Bad luck mate.

You shouldn't have guessed, cos you will have signed to say the info given was true and accurate, which it clearly wasn't.

Unfortunate but that's the way it is. Good luck finding something else, dude.

You should be able to appeal the descion. Ask them for there appeal procedure. Being that they offered you the job without asking about your grades I fail to see how they can sack you for it.

why the hell should he appeal, the company gave himn an aplication form which asks for accuratly details,he guessed the results because couldnt be arsed waiting......hes grades he gave could have qualified him for the job when infact when the company found out the true results, made him unqualified for the job.....gopdbye!

common sense really tbh,OP dont have a leg to stand on.

Could still be worth appealing tho, even if is his fault. I'd imagine he needs the job, I'd try anything.

They pressured me to get the forms signed and done, so I got it done as quick as I could which cost me the job anyway

you still had 2 ways of getting round it.

tell them you need more time to get qualification results etc or tell them yopur handing in your aplication but the qualifications part is missing as your waiting for results as you lost yours or send a covering note detailing that.
that would be a responsible and mature thing to do.what youy did was decieve.wether you guessed or not or lied or whatever, its not accurate.

I wish people would think 'what if i was the employer and this same thing happened to me'

you own a business, take some one on because they were qualified on the application form, you then find out they guessed, lied or whatever, there was a discrepency between there application and what the correct results are.this made them unqualified for the job in hand.why would you keep them employed.in your eyes theyve lied or not bothered re checking the correct info for what they signed for,and there also a liabilty to yourself, the people they work around and also to the company!

It wasn't an application form, it was a contract. If it's a contract they've offered him the job, they can't remove him for his grades after this as they didn't offer him the job based on the grades

Appeals process will be free as it will be internal.

Read the first post properly before spouting utter turd

You should certainly appeal. This will allow you to state your side of the situation and you can explain the mistake and situation at the time.
If you really did tell them that you could not find your results then you need to say who you told and roughly when it happened, and what they told you to do.

Dude!

I'm 31 and remember my grades....

Most banks require certain minimum grades, if you happened to accidentally make out you had enough of the relevant grades and you didn't this is a breach of contract no?

Would it be that you didn't have 5x A-C grades so tried to blag it?
