Can anyone please explain this?
Right, i was coming home after a long day! I was doing approx 32 in a 30 (which is perfectly legal). Anyway, coming the other way Mr policeman turns round and starts tailgating me, fair does.
He then overtook me (in a 30), undercut me (without any lights on), thought maybe he was going to pull me? But no, he then continued speeding off about 40/50 in a 30
Sorry if this makes no sense, i've been working 14 hours today and that just took the piss

Tbh, I was going to take the reg down, then I remembered they'd do nothing.
Just glad they didn't pull me over lol, wanted to get home get my feet up!
Just takes the piss how it was in the middle of the town, right outside a pub

There are 3 stages of Police driving standads, basic, response and advanced (to use simple terms)
Basic allows use of Police vehicles but doesnt permit use of blue lights and sirens to respond to incidents, however some forces do have a discretion of a percentage where they can 'make progress' in order to respond to an incident if no other vehicle is available
Response allows the use of lights and sirens but is still limited with exactly how quick they can travel, persuits are often not permitted or must be handed over immediately to the first available advanced driver
advanced. Anything goes if its justifyable/ traffic only usually

But we're talking 5ish offences:
Illegal U-Turn
Tailgating
dangerous driving
speeding
running a red light
He came straight back from where he came from, so obviously he wanted to either check my insurance details out or something?
In my opinion, they should be classes as another road user without the blues on

He was probably just responding to another call? Or looking for someone. I don't know really but all of them are highly trained.

maybe he got another call while he was behind you so he sped off to that
if he had used his blues you would have slowed down there for slowing him down
but i agree its not right and they did this to a mate of mine but he has a sticker
"sorry officer i though you wanted a race"

I thought it was an allowance of 10% of the limit plus 3mph?

I was out the other night and the police cars in my town were going over 40mph through the streets, that are 30s. no flashing lights or anything. looked like the police cars were playing chaseys. looked fun but they wouldn't like me doing that.

That's a guideline that they allow you. Doesn't make it legal.
The speed limit is 30mph. Not "30mph + 10% + 2mph"
31 in a 30 is breaking the law. Unlikely to get done for it. But it is breaking the law.
Not that I give a toss. Speed limitssss is for idiots
