help needed!!

hi all

changed a o/s driveshaft on my 2000 vtr. when out the driveshaft spline on the gearbox has what i think is excessive play?? is this normal or a common problem??

also i get a noise when pulling away or changing gear i think it this problem above but not sure, the noise is a sort of loud tick/pingy type noise had to discribe.

last but not least, i ordered a green sensor to the vehicle specs as the car is running like a bag of shite. the sensor i got has got a square green plug with two pins. is the sensor on top of the thermostat housing?? if so the one that is fitted is totally different, has three pins and is a light blue colour?? is this right??
