Default Alternator belt

I recently changed my alternator belt and its started squeaking . Is this because its loose ?

It can be. but you can get roughly the right tension by making sure that the belt does deflect by more than 5mm at it's longest length and/or you can't twist it more than 90degs along the same length.

okay thanks mate. It must be to loose just i didnt want to do it up to tight because of the alternator bearings !! But ill nipp it up a bit thanks
