clutch problems
hello everyone i'm new here so just finding my feet and any help would be much appreciated. I bought a saxo vtr a couple of month back and ive been noticing some problems, it all started when i was accelerating in first gear, and i noticed a judder, since its got worse now ive noticed when the clutch is not pressed a whirring noise is comin from under bonnet. I was traveling last night and the biting point seems to be very low... too low and it's struggling to go into gear sometimes even grinding the gear box even though the clutch is fully pressed. Could someone help or give me any advice please.

Sounds like the thrust bearing have gone to me or the fins are hitting it.

all i noticed was a judder when pulling away at that point i didnt think it was clutch but over time while traveling it wont go into gear i have to pump the clutch a bit

God knows, you would be best asking your local mechanic. Probably better of getting a new clutch though if it is the thrust bearing.

depends mate i got a vtr clutch from euro car parts for £60 only a cheap kit
doing mine wednesday its not to bad a job but it fiddly and time consueming as you have to drop both wishbones/drive shafts etc wrestle the gearbox out hence why garages chage so much for a clutch change

i saw the clutch kit on euro car for £60 but everyone seems to be recomending a valeo one. i'd rather go budget but dont want it going again in a hurry, how much would the labour be roughly for clutch replacement, just so i dont get my eyes ripped out at a garage haha

yea it is better to get a genuine one it will last longer but unless you rag the shite out of it all the time it shouldnt be to bad
