Car wont start, alternator gone?
I’ve got a 2000 Saxo VTR 1.6, was involved in a crash before i bought it and was starting fine, started the repairs, took the smashed headlight out, new wing. However now when i go to start it i can hear the alternator click once and then it doesn’t start. All the lights on dash and stereo work fine. I’ve used a battery tester and the battery is fine at 12V. I was just wondering is it because I’ve got the headlights out it won’t start, or would it start without headlights therefore the alternator?

It will still start without the headlights.
Has the car been left out in the wet over night without a bonnet?
Could be your alternator has corroded and seized.. Try spraying it with WD40.

its had a bonnet on, but no bumper or headlights so chances are it probally still seized up, tried tapping it with a hammer but made no diffence, i will try wd40 and see if that works thanks
