Default Major Problem. Help Needed

Hi boys and girls.
In need of some help, I've got an S1 xsi and have just fitted the 16v VTS engine. The loom has already been spliced and should literally be a connect her up and turn the key.
All was going well until I'd finished wiring her up, put the key in and nothing. No lights on the dash or anything. Even when I connect the battery negative there is no little spark as is usual on the battery terminal.
I think the problem is the engine fusebox wiring as I've run a load of voltage tests on the loom and all 'seems' to be ok. I haven't got a clue how it is supposed to be wired up though. All of my earths are ok but I am literally just getting nothing completing the circuit Any ideas from the rallye reg experts?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Is the battery fully charged at all?

Yep, battery voltage is at 12.6v, starter motor is 12.4, alternator is 12.3. There's power going to some points in the ecu plug and the main loom plug. I'm just unsure how the engine fusebox should be wired up and think that is my main problem.
