Default K&N 57i Gen 2 for 'R

Hello people,

Basically am I mad for considering a K&N 57i Gen to for my 'R?

I bought a Raceland Enclosed Induction Kit and there cack, I really cba to move my power steering bottle and make up some sort of bracket for it as it will mean having to move my aftermarket alarm all around :/

So im after one that will just go straight on with no messing about! Only thing is I need something that I can attach the Idle Vacum hose to.

At £201 though are these really worth it?!? I mean there not even that cheap second hand!

I have the crappy oval Saxo filter box on there atm, not the decent MK2 shape one (I haz MK2 car with MK1 engine y0).

Cheers,

Matthew.

*Btw If i ever get some progress actually going I *might* get a thread up*

I had a Gen 2 on my cammed VTR. Not sure if it made a difference or not, sounded pretty good though.

Wouldn't pay the £160 odd they are brand new though.

So probably worth it if I can find a good condition second hand one maybe?

It will be run along side a Raceland 4-2-1 Mani, Supersprint Centre Piper and Piper 3" Back Box.

No cams or anything like that.

TBH though most people will tell you to use the standard airbox with an upgraded panel filter and a better cool air feed.

I just went for the gen 2 because various people say you get good results from them, they fit well i do like a little bit of induction noise.

Hmmm I have the oval airbox though which seems to be cack compared to the MK2 one plus I don't really see an easy way of a cold air feed on mine :Z

Ah well, I will see how much dollar I have over the coming weeks (can see over time being done haha).

Cheers for the help.
