Default Lights keep turning themselves on?!?!!?

Noticed this morning that my dash board lights seemed to be on even though I hadn't switched them on, pulled over and the front and rear lights were on too just a little dimmer looking than the side lights.

It comes and goes ie...dash board lights flicker now and again...

Really after some ideas as i've just bought a new battery and don't want it draining...plus I look a complete tool driving round in daylight with my lights on.

Thanks for any help...

Chinkostu is right, one of the bulbs, probably one of the brake light bulbs is not installed properly. The bulb has two lugs that are offset and it needs to be installed the right way round.

Checked bulbs this morning they were all in fine, I even took them all out one at a time but still lights come on as soon as I turn key, (the front lights look a litter dimmer than the normal side lights normally do.

It did go away a couple of weeks back but has now come back..and also did notice it came back on when I went over a speed hump a few weeks back.

Any help would be greatly appriciated, feel a right bell end drving round in daylight with my lights on...

maybe a sticking headlamp relay or a short in the wires or faulty switch try disconnectiing one at a time see if they go off try switch first more likely than the relay if they are going on themselves rather than staying on when they have been used hope this helps

Been a complete novice with cars please can someone explain how I disconect the switch...and also headlight relay

Totally driving me mad now, think it must be a faulty wire because 1 min it's ok then as soon as I go over a bump or pot hole they come on again...

Many thanks in advance
