When you switch on, the machine is still. When you press the + to get to the first speed the speed builds gradually to the 1000rpm which feels quite nice.
When you press + again it seems to hit the speeds pretty quick. Doesn't take long to go up and down through the speeds. It certainly doesn't seem any more or less fiddly than the speed dial on the Makita or Kestrels, I quite like the digital control.
The weight though, it feels so much lighter than a Makita, that's going to save your arms.

I take it this is going to be the best rotary for a newbie then... being so light.. ?
May invest in one once i feel confident enough to try a rotary.

Its an ideal machine for all rotary users Chip tbh...not just beginners. The fact as its lighter just makes it easier on the arms lol

i have had the chance to have a play with one of these! was very impressed! was a joy to use slightly smaller than other machines but a real joy to use the extra .2 of a pound over other polishers sounds like nothing but makes it very easy to use.
the only thing i found was a little more difficult was moving up in such small increments was a long task it was easier just to pick 5 or 6 speeds and just up to them quickly

The only think im concerned about really is the speed control buttons......i can imagine it being awkward really to alter the speed compared to the simply roll style switch found on many other machines.

the buttons are easy to click with your thumb as its in that place with the trigger anyway
