Them Astras CAN look ok but mostly look awful.

The reason i can't decide is basically because of handling, i'd love a turbo hence the Astra, but i want a good handling car so that's why i'm thinking the 172 lol
I'm swaying more towards the Astra, but i think i would be best test driving both to decide on the overall car.
Anyone on here ever owned/driven both?

Well powerwise the clio is only 17bhp less and don't forget it's lighter and handles better. Ok there is more potential with the Turbo engine but in standard form then i would still rather have the Clio.

Yea i see where your coming from, it's a tough one as i personally love the look of the Astra's, but like you say the Clio is lighter and handles better, but then again the Astra is probably better built! Arghhh

They are capable if you set them up right but liking them depends on your driving style

If you're a typical Saxo driver don't get one if not then get one lol

this! theyre still pretty expensive though.
coupe with a gsi front bumper will look good and i really like the black and white interior you can get in the coupe as well.
astra gets my vote. i hate the driving position in the 172

You can get the coupe with full red leather interior, looks lush, its similar to the ones S2000s have

Mk4(?) astras don't handle that bad imo. My mates 1.8 sxi had plenty of grip just not too much feedback or adjustability.
