Default Ram Air VTS?

OK, me and my head chef were discussing the possibilities of Ram Air on my saxo...

So I have a new bumper, and I wanted to fill the foglight holes, he said why not stick some piping up to the airbox, and a little reed valve, so that it only allows air when the vaccum opens the reed valve. So like as I go faster, the air will flow in faster....I thought about it, but isnt this going to make a remap like...really hard?? Cause the air intake is going to change, with the speed your travelling?

Thoughts/opinions? Cheers.

The ram effect will only realy be for higher speeds but if your going to a decent dyno then they should have a fan to cool the enginer, If they can adjust the speed of the fan then shorly they can use it to simulate the wind conditions at higher speeds. If memory serves then if its uses a well designed scoop then the effect would only be a few % increase mainly at speeds of about 70mph+.

I could be wrong and am prepared for a slating here. I've got more about this in a motorsport book at home. I'll try and scan it and email you the pdf if you want.

Yea, would be awesome thanks lee_cable2003@hotmail.com

Yea, thats what I was thinking, but wind conditions at high speeds, like 100+ they're not going to be able to simulate? And surely its going to make an almighty roar. Well the 'scoop' would be both foglight holes in the bottom of a standard VT bumper, as I can get some flexi piping, and a Y piece so I can then ajoin this to my airbox. Making my own reed valve wouldnt be to difficult either.

*Disclaimer* Before I get slated for mentioning speeds of 100+, these speeds would only be used for track use, and NEVER on the roads. I dont drive like a cock, at all.

why not just cut the metal behind the front grill away & put a cutout in the front grill to feed a raceland enclosed induction kit ?
