Whitevanmen's Amazon Green VTR progress thread
NOW ITS BEEN SOLD !!! SEE PAGE 4/5 FOR NEW SAXO PROJECT
Ok here goes.
I'd been longing for a Saxo for a long while and spotted this one advertised locally on Ebay .Starting bid of £400.It had 7 months mot and short tax.It had a dodgy clutch and a nasty key scratch down the passenger door to the rear panel and that was all the details there was.I watched it for a few days and when it came to the end there were still no bids.In the last 30 seconds i bid £510 .It ended at £400! It was mine!!! when the auction ended i rang the guy and arranged to collect on the following saturday,My wife dropped me off and i drove it home with my 3 boys in the car.God it was noisy,it turned out it had a full decat stainless powerflow,Pipercross induction kit.The clutch was making a very loud whining noise but it got us home ,we all had big smiles on our faces and ringing in our ears lol!We gave it a wash then decided to go to the local shop to get milk,FFS! got to the top of my road then down to the 1st island,at the island the clutch gave up ! I was stuck in the middle of the island with 3 kids in the car! Oh great! What the fook have i bought???? anyway pushed the car to safety and phoned the AA.He towed me home and then i made some calls, clutch booked in for monday. Its been fantastic ever since! Will add more tomorrow...

The next thing i got was a strut brace ,£45 all in off Ebay

bargain!,but i had to move the red button thing, what does it do anyways????
The next thing i did was source a new passenger door off Ebay, and found one for £30 +£20 postage in the right colour with all trim and glass ,mirror etc.Bolted it straight on when it arrived but had a bit of trouble removing the check strap bolts as they were locktite'd on .Very happy with the result! No more nasty key scratch!

 and back
i think it really changes the look with the plates. They have Citroen chevrons at the side and behind the numbers it has ghosted chevrons ,pretty cool !Wasn't sure if they would pass the mot but they did

Finally the weather has got better so i could spend some time on the car. thought i'd get to do the side trim in black at last. i also had a go at the front end.A bit of a sanding down and prep work first. Then masking up. Then to the finished result.Pretty happ with it to.I even decided to respray the mesh grill silver from black. Both sides done and new silver Sax-p stickers on!

Found some horrible rust on the rear wheel arch
All been welded up now.Had the bottom hose fixed at the same time as it had been catching on the driveshaft and had worn through.
