The stig is actually trademarked iirc, can remember it had a tm and a copyright BBC on the figure my cousin's got.
He just seems to be a greedy twat tbh, I would have loved the stig role! Being a popular figure as he was and no-one knowing who you are! I would love it tbh and I bet he wasn't on peanuts!

The identity of The Stig has been around for ages, long before all the hoo-ha of his book. He's going on Fifth Gear as himself; Ben Collins. If I remember correctly, on the advert, Vicky says "and in the new series we have the Stig, Ben Collins"
I have a behind the scenes DVD (freebie with Top Gear mag) of Clarkson's most recent DVD and Vicky says that Tiff Nedell is The Stigs dad.

I didnt even care anyway tbh. Top gear has turned shit. Used to actually test cars not try and race each other everywhere..
