Job offer?
Went out last night and a mate i dont see often asked if i wanted a job at where he has not long been at. Its engineering same as what im doing atm. Its like £11 something a hour and im on about £7 something but i get a salary. It would work out about a extra 11k a year than what im currently on but main concern is job security and i currently work for a worldwide company in the aerospace industry. Should i take the gamble for the extra money or my current job been at for 3 years but tbh job security isnt the best. Im really thinking bout it as i could startsaving for deposit on a house, pay my debts off and more money to myself.
What should i do??

if your a qualified engineer, your being raped at 19k a year, i earn that in 3 months, and im an engineer, and only been qualified a year.
you need to get out there, bonus of things are, aslong as your qualified, there is engineering jobs everywhere, and you make the leap, things dont work out, then you should walk into the next engineering job.

i already own a house, and am currently in the process of just puttin a large deposit down on another house which i plan to buy next year, and will hope to have paid of fully before im 30. i would rather have a mortgage free house than a 40k car.
i dont earn 80k neither, i only work for 6 months of the year, and have the rest of the time to myself, oh and i drive two of them "pieces of shit" aswell as other cars.
the purpose of my comment isnt about how much i earn, or what i drive.
my opinion is to take the other job, and plan ahead, if it falls through, then you can always find another engineering job.

Im not qualified but been at my current job nearly 3 years. People who have been there longer than me went to college but some who started just before me went to college and sacked it off and i was annoyed i never got the chance to go.

It will never hurt to find out details of this other job.
Just that fact that you say its "your mate, who you dont see very often, who hasnt worked at the company very long" which would make me slightly sceptical. Have they actually got any jobs going, or is it a lad on a night out talking shit?
I'd phone the other company up and ask they directly if they have work and what the terms and wages would be. No need to tell your current company in case it doesnt come to anything
