Default Green Vtr Progress Thread

Hi, brought my saxo vtr for £750 on a 51 plate with 89k on the clock. Bodywork is pretty much immaculate baring a couple of small car park dents. I only brought it as a run around while my other car was in the garage but iv fell in love with it and my other car is now sold! Since then iv MOT'ed it, which it passed first time with only minors being brakes and backbox deteriorated.

I first off replaced the brakes all round and free'd up a seized caliper on the rear which has made it brake loads better. I also painted the calipers yellow

I then got a custom stainless backbox made up and changed the induction kit over. Its only a cheap ebay job but so was the original and the filter on the original was in a right state so need changing!

Its got a alpine headunit and large amp in the boot powering some 8" inch 3 way pioneer speakers (yes i said 8") which sound very nice but leaving me with the sound stage right at the back of the car as in the front there are some rubbish fusion 13cm speakers powered from the headunit which i am going to replace with some 13cm vibe (i know vibe arnt the best but they are the only 13cm components i could find in my price range which can handle the power of the amp) components run from the amp which will bring the sound stage forward slightly i hope but tbh im not very bothered about sounds but it sounds nice and goes loud without any distortion so im happy.

Other plans are lowering (got some 35mm apex springs), rest of the exhaust system, maybe a remap as a friend of a friend works at revo so wont cost me to much, and a couple of other VERY subtle bits of yellow to tie in with the calipers.

Its also got the badgeless grill, black saxo and citreon badges and black petrol cap. One of the other jobs iv got to do is spray the inside of the headlights. Eventually i wouldnt mind some anthracite wheels aswell.

And heres what i was playing around with today. Started off with a normal induction kit which left the filter sitting on the the rad pipe next to the block so i dug out an old induction kit i had liein around chopped it up and made what i think is a major improvement, i also made a bracket as now obviously the pipe work is quite long it wont support its self. Its still pretty close to the rad pipe but not sat right on it and not next to the block either so should be a fair bit cooler =]

In the pic i was only part way threw the process and the breather isnt attatched and the bracket isnt in place
