Exclamation Strut Brace

Will a mk2 strut brace fit a mk1? i bought one for a mk2 and it doesnt seem to fit as easy as i thought it would. There a couple of things in the way that wont let the bar sit down onto the shock tops. Any help would be greatly appreciated I'm new to saxos.

Cheers

if its for the car mate then yes it should fit, some of the braces wont let a mk1 bonnet shut because of the bonnet stay but shouldnt be catching anything else
