Default Leaking sunroof, conclusion...

Well, im yet ot decied if its the sunroof, or the local river has taken a detour through my car.

Anyway, iv sealed it up like fuck...it stopped, yayy...now the ice had buggered off its back, i assume it got in to little gaps, froze, expanded, made a leak again.

So basically im going to polycarb it, remove the sun roof, put sealent around it and place a sheet of polycarb over the top.
Now ive been advised to use poprivets, but i only have m8 and m10 bolts. Aslong as its a tight fit, with plenty of sealent, it will work fine yeah?

I would weld it, but i only plan on keeping it another 5-6 months max! So not bothered atall aout what it looks like or how long it lasts lol...

i'm sure it'll be fine with a load of sealant with the bolts if they're really tight too. i'd probably seal the bolts too if I did it

Dont lads.. The handle on the sunroof dose wear it hapnd to me.. You have to really ring the handle around until it can go no further, the handle should be faceing the drivers side window and the sunroof is down to its very last all around...

If you dry the everybit around the glass off, open it right up.

Buy some silicone and a gun. put 2 ton of it around the window then wind it back down, then but a touch more around the window you want the low module cilicone if you ask for it, you dont want one that goes hard you want it to be soft still

yeah alot of the time it is the airial.. but if you think it is the sunroof do what the other lad said... get the soft silicone because it can expand and shrink... so if it freezes over it wont crack through the silicone.

i have blanked my sunroof using a sheet of 1mm aluminium and pop rivets with loads of sealant.. i put the sealant on and then pop riveted the plate from one end working my to the other, as i dis this the sealant was forced to go either side of the rivet and make a very tight seal... have sicve washed the car and constantly had a hose pipe on it and not one bit of water (touching wood as i speak)

results:
