Thumbs up power steering pump

Hi guys first post so apologies if going over old ground. My mother's MK1 VTR, yes really my mother's, has problems with the power steering. Are the mk1 and mk2 pumps interchangeable and if so how big a job is it? Cheers Wayne

think you will find they are, remember reading about it awhile back, one has the fluid reservoir on the pump, the other has an external reservoir.
