What to do next to my car?!?!
Looking at going on the track at FCS this year
Ok so atm my spec is:
03 MK2 VTR 98BHP
K&N Cone Filter
Piper 4-1 Manifold (Decat)
Supersprint Center Section & 2" Backbox
VTS Gearbox
Lowered 50mm on Unknown Setup
VTS Alloys with T1-R's
so not much  . . .
So where do i go now:
Encolsed Induction?
Polybushes?
Mintex Pads & Discs?
Upper and Lower strut braces?
Pro Race 1.2's with R888's?
Polished Throttle Body?
Lightend Flywheel?
And Cams (my uncle has done loads of work to his old 1982 mini GT including cams, do you think he could cam my vtr? as he is not sure)
No 16v's please as cant be bothered with the hassle as im selling next winter for a van, just want to stay 8v
or any other ideas cheers

Strut braces for sure, make sure you do both.
Get a decent induction kit.
Why wouldnt he be able to cam it either? Just get an adjustable pulley, replace the valve springs and cambelt at the same time as camming it though
Also, upgrade your brakes to 266mm or 283mm. Go 266 if you ever want to put vtr wheels back on

Enclosed induction will reduce the heat soak so thats a positive, as mentioned strut braces are a must they make so much noticable difference. Also lightened flywheel is a very very good modification the revs pick up so much quicker. You thought about carbing or throtte boddies etc

dont want to spend a bomb as i need a van in the winter so will have to sell it, just want to enjoy my Bday at FCS and have a good few track sessions as i have always wanted to do it and wont have a car to do it in for the next few years
recommend any strut braces?
and what do you think about raceland enclosed induction?

I had OMP upper and lowers on mine, would recommend those.
Raceland enclosed with a green filter would be good enough.
Cam wise, Kent pt50 of newmans ph2, theyre what I considered for mine.
266mm are a piece of piss to fit buddy, pretty much bolt straight on, upgrade to braided lines if you do change calipers

As said upgrade brakes first to 266mm and braided lines. I would get strut braces and full polybush kit. Will handle alot better with those mate.
Also some R888's would help the handling even more! Add some mild cams to the mix and strip it out for the track days and your onto a winner there.

R888's will be wasted on a road tbh, and from reviews it seems there is other better cut slicks, for better prices than the Toyos

Nothing.
Use it on track first then address the area you feel is weak.
Althou 266s are always worth the upgrade, and simple to fit

I am now supplying 266mm brake upgrades from the 206 GTi. This package is a fantastic upgrade for all Peugeot 106's, as often the standard 247mm calipers just aren't sufficient. I use these 266mm calipers accompanied with Mintex Pads and Discs on track and they are faultless. The calipers you will receive are the Lucas variants. I free the bleed screws off so you won't have any problems bleeding the brakes after fitment.
The calipers arrive painted in a colour that you request (Red, Silver, Black or Blue) with all seals checked and a quality report. I provide part numbers for the discs and the pads you will require to complete the setup. You receive a pair (x2) of 266mm Lucas Calipers with this listing.
I have sold many sets on various owners clubs and everyone has been happy with the standard of the product they have received.
I also stock bleed screws for these calipers which can be ordered seperately. Please contact me for more details. Please be aware that these calipers are prepared to your specification so can take up to 2 weeks to arrive.

Has anyone heard of hotuning strut braces? Look identical to the omp ones but quite cheap
and do you get a cam kit? Is there a guide on here of how to fit? Cheers

i wouldnt bother with naything then. for me cams and stuff on a vtr are always going to look like a waste of money when a 16v conversion can be done for less.

don't bother tuning it imo. for track use you want very good tyres, brakes and a good suspension set up.
