Broken PS3?
Just wondered what to do with my broken PS3. Its not got the YLOD, it just doesn't read discs anymore. Doesn't read CD's, DVD's games or Blueray, but it does still function. I can still play online games and use it for internet.
Is it worth fixing - anyone know how much it might cost and how to do it? - or should I just sell it on ebay.
Cheers for any advice.

Buy a second hand bluray drive, piece of piss to swap over. tx9/10 to open the lid, 7 or so cross head screws to get the shell off then one ribbon cable and an iso cable connecting the bluray.
I actually swapped over my laser the other day which is 100 times harder but still only took me 20 minutes.

Cheers for the advice folks, I will take a look at buying a new blueray drive. It's gone past its warranty date anyway, I can send it back, so I don't care about opening it up and tinkering.
Thanks for clearing that up Moke, you have gained +1 respect points! However in the light of the 'some bellend' comments this tally might change over time lol
