Default neons connected to door sensor???

sup!
right am gonna try make as much sense as i can so here it comes

recently changed all my interior lighting to blue and really like it..then i thought hmmmm blue neons under the seats or below dash facing carpet would look nice and go with the style!

now...most neons have a off/on switch and i dont like drivin with neons on (i know it defeats purpose) so i thought when i open any the doors the inside light comes on, if i can somehow connect the neons wire to the same circuit to the inside bulb the neons should come on too..makes sense? so when i open door neons and inside car bulb come on..close door they turn off.

i noticed the door sensors when u close the door they get pushed in and lights go off..open door then the opposite happens and light come on..if i manage to get that little sensor out..wiring the neons to it might work? or i might have to just buy the little sensor of a scrapped saxo and install it next to the one thats already there? or is there any other ideas? would be nice to see this little theory work!

thaaankkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkksssss

sounds like you got the idea pretty sorted pal, try with the existing sensor first, might just have to have seperate feeds to live to stop everything being really dim. good idea though mate, will look good if it works imo

i imagine it would work, give it a go! i know people wire them up to the interior light as when you open the door that turns on too.. then you can turn them on/off as and when you want

spot on lads! pussymunky thats what i was scared of! the lights being dimmed...thats what give me the idea of installing a new sensor coz it sounds like an easy job...drill a hole in door whack it in..wires to battery wires to neons and job is done...i think it depends on the wire thats feeding to the sensor..if its only givin 12v then might just dim them!, like we all agreed this would look great! could do the same thing to the boot too

this is my idea which i intend to go ahead with..a little rough diagram to show my idea..this should work spot on i think well i hope! (uploaded below)
in writing - where the battery wires plug into the sensor ill wire a secondary feed so it means more volts feeding then hopefully that means no lights dimming!...but straight feed from battery could be too much? not a problem can get a 12v fused box thing...sounds too much fuck about for a little thing..surely there is much simpler way
thanks

thanks for the replies!
