Default clunking at front end, also blower has no heat.

Hi there

Bought a saxo vtr a few weeks back. Cheap as chips with no history bar the last MOT doc.

The first problem is that our blower doesn't blower hot / warm at all! great when you are trying to clear the screen huh! Any suggestions??

The next problem a biggy (well I think it is!). We recently had replaced on the car bacause it was making a load of noises at the front end, the front wheel bearings (back needs doing also). The front lower arms, and the front drop links. There is still a noise coming from the front, when we go round corners / roundabouts etc. Its a slight rubbing, but also a knocking which goes in time with the revolutions. Any ideas on what we need to start replacing??

If we can do it ourselves it would be a bonus. We have haynes manual, and I used to work on my mini's (classic) when I owned them so I will give anything a try!!

TIA

Could be from the strut, either topmount, or same as mine has just failed MOT for, loose insert, just a case of tightening

Flush your rad and pipes out, might be blocked with copper seal or something.
If it still doesn't work heater matrix needs changing.
And there an absolute arsehole to do ..

the no hot/warm air sounds like thermostat.
as for the knocking, could be cv joints/driveshafts

Hi guys

How easy is it to do the loose insert?? One of the mounts (is it called high hat or summit?) was replaced when they did the wheel bearings. Would it be worthwhile replacing the other side?

I had wondered whether it could be the cv joints or driveshafts, the cv joints had play on them apparently on last advisory list (we didn't own the car then!!). Might be worthwhile perhaps it would be worthwhile replacing those and the boots?

Whats involved with the thermostat?? is it a sensor? how easy is it to check and or replace?? Could be worthwhile flushing first, how to do this??

Thank you peeps for replying I have a fair few things to go on there. Are there any suggestions of good places that I could buy the parts from?

Thank you sooooo much

Flush it through first ..
If it still doesn't work change your thermostat, Halfords usually have them.
If not your thermostat it'll be your heater matrix, I reckon it'll be the matrix.
