Default My 1.1i fitted with nitrous oxide

You read it right, except its an AX but still the same engine. I know there is a lot of haters out there 'z0mg jst get a vtr/vts' blah blah, my dad has a spare kit that cost him next to nothing and so i went to santa pod the other weekend with friends to RWYB. The kit was fitted for the runs only and on 9hp jets...not much eh? Stripped the AX out (carpet, seats, passenger seatbelts) for the runs too. Aiming for 17 seconds with nitrous on as my personal best last time in an AX was 18.5 without nitrous.
First run without NOAAAASSSS was 18.4, good start.
Flicked the pump on, opened up the bottle ready to rip my floor pans out and cause danger to my manifold...
The nitrous was set to kick in (y0) on full throttle, if it came on at 2-3k i might hit trouble
2nd run;
17.9592!

3rd run 18.0145.... bottle was pretty low and the nitrous guy wasn't there to refill next run was 18.0314 and got worse after that even when i fitted bigger jets to a massive 12hp... bottle started to loose pressure so took everything off, fitted seats and belts back in and went home
I almost beat an evo 8 on one of my runs, had a chat with the guy at the end and it was his first time down the strip, he was shaking and had trouble changing gear lol.
Everyone at pod was shocked to see a 1.1i on nitrous, but like all good car enthusiasts, everyone supported me, had a laugh about our cars and enjoyed the weekend

This beasty little engine has just gone past 120,000 miles. Still runs smoothly and has its original gearbox. I am not supporting usage of nitrous oxide, but i will say its not dangerous, you cannot blow yourself up with it unless your a total tool and DO declare your mods

Cheers everyone

You forgot the induction kit makes a minimum of 1cc

I thought you had to upgrade your h/g, pistons and internals for this kind of stuff?

How much is a can of nos, how long does it last?

I wouldn't mind seeing a video if you have one. Can you feel the acceleration?

That is true.

60hp standard, 9 extra horses would tickle the gasket/pistons etc. You do have to uprate if you go much bigger jets like 30/40hp

You get a weight, its about £20 to fill up a standard bottle and that lasts my dad 1 run on 100hp jets on his drag bike

There is a guy in his class running 250hp of just nitrous alone

The videos are crap, didnt get a shot of the 17 second run

Yes the kick is abit like VTEC tbh lol

cheaper in the long run + no need for refills + better brakes and suspension + better chassis + full power all the time. Not sure if this qualifies as hate or just plain sense?

fair play though, looks fun

Well if i had a VTS/VTR the best thing to do is take all the bits off, put it all in the AX, scrap the saxo then it would be cheaper in the long run + no need for refills + better brakes and suspension + better chassis + full power all the time lol.
Erm but yes in some ways, insurance, petrol day to day not so, as im just a young lad lol. The nitrous i can add while off the majesty's road, have some fun and its back off again, back to 1.1i economy and insurance

Thanks
